Community Coalition for Heart Health Education
The Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships partners with the Community Coalition for Heart Health Education (CCHHE) to advance community-led heart health education and prevention efforts.
Together, we support programs that empower individuals and families with knowledge to prevent heart disease, stroke and related conditions. This partnership reflects OCEP’s commitment to equity, access and community-informed care.
Through collaboration with clinicians and researchers at the University of Arizona, we help bring culturally responsive education, events and resources directly into Tucson-area neighborhoods.

Pet Partners
Through our partnership with Pet Partners, OCEP supports initiatives that center the human–animal bond as a pathway to well-being.
Together, we explore opportunities to bring therapy animals into educational, clinical and community spaces to promote stress reduction, emotional wellness and connection. These efforts highlight innovative, evidence-informed approaches to holistic health that benefit learners, patients and community members.
IHEART – Indigenous Health, Education and Resources Taskforce
The Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships collaborates with the Indigenous Health, Education and Resources Taskforce (IHEART), a national AI/AN-led initiative focused on increasing representation of American Indian and Alaska Native communities in the health professions.
Together, we support systems-level strategies that strengthen Indigenous educational pathways, elevate community leadership, and advance sustainable solutions to improve AI/AN health and workforce outcomes.
San Carlos Apache Healthcare
OCEP works alongside San Carlos Apache Healthcare to support initiatives that strengthen health education, workforce pathways and community-informed care.
This partnership is grounded in respect for Tribal sovereignty and Indigenous knowledge, and centers collaboration that responds to community priorities while supporting the training of future health professionals committed to serving Tribal communities.
Gila River Health Care
Our partnership with Gila River Health Care focuses on advancing community-engaged health initiatives aligned with the priorities of the Gila River Indian Community.
Through collaboration with health care leaders, educators and community members, OCEP supports efforts that integrate education, service and culturally grounded care — strengthening learner pathways while contributing to community wellness.
Centering Community Through Trusted Partnerships
The Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson collaborates with local, regional, Tribal and community partners to advance health and educational access. Guided by principles of trust, reciprocity and shared purpose, OCEP supports initiatives that uplift community voices and foster long-term, relationship-centered engagement.
OCEP also serves as a connector across campus and beyond — linking faculty, learners and community leaders in efforts that are responsive to the needs and strengths of Arizona’s diverse communities. Through collaborative programming, shared learning and strategic partnerships, OCEP works to build a more community-responsive academic medical center.
